Surgery of the hand, wrist, and elbow
Clinical Interests:
Dr. Gregory Rafijah specializes in the medical and surgical care
of the hand, wrist and elbow. Dr. Rafijah takes a special interest
in traumatic injuries of the upper extremity, distal radius
fractures, elbow instability and stiffness, and thumb arthritis.
Research
Interests:
Dr. Rafijah actively engages in research that involves the
Distal Radius fractures, nerve regeneration, biomechanics
of the elbow,
and in thumb arthritis.
Background:
Dr. Rafijah received his undergraduate degree in Biological
Sciences from University of California, Irvine and his
medical doctorate
degree from The Chicago Medical School where he graduated
Alpha Omega Alpha. He later went onto an Orthopedic Internship
and
Residency at Harbor UCLA Medical Center. He followed that
by a Hand surgery
fellowship for the University of Washington. Dr. Rafijah
served as Chief of Hand Surgery at Harbor-UCLA Medical
Center for
10 years, and formally had an appointment in the UCLA School
of
Medicine
as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Rafijah currently serves
as Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California,
Irvine.
